Jenks Sports Complex

Project Under Construction

The Jenks Sports Complex is known for its first-class and well maintained natural grass fields. However, to offer the Tulsa Metro sports community a better playing surface when the ground is too rain-saturated for grass field play, the complex owners called in JONESPLAN and a local turf company to convert some of the natural playing surfaces into 3 artificial turf fields earmarked for specific training, programming and games.

JONESPLAN’s role is to prepare the field’s base layer through grading and drainage to the turf company’s exact specifications, allowing them to then install the artificial turf.

Displacement of soil must be limited because the complex is located in a flood plain, meaning hauling dirt in and out of the site isn’t an option. Instead, JONESPLAN will use special laser grading equipment to bring grading to exact tolerances using dirt that is already on site.

The complex has drainage for the parking lot but not for the playing surfaces, so JONESPLAN will install a new drainage system that will connect the fields with the existing parking lot drainage system.
